A new floor is only as good as what's underneath it. Uneven concrete, sagging plywood and damaged subfloors lead to cracked tile, gapping planks and bumps that show through Marmoleum and vinyl. Interior Floor Designs specializes in cement-based self-leveling and subfloor repair. We have more than 30 years of experience in flooring and general contracting, and we work in homes and commercial buildings throughout King, Snohomish and Skagit counties.

Surfaces We Level

  • Concrete slabs. Basements, garages converted to living space, and commercial floors.

  • Plywood and wood-framed floors. Above-grade rooms in homes and multi-story buildings.

  • Lightweight concrete (Gypcrete). Common in condos and apartments.

  • Existing bonded flooring. Where the manufacturer allows it, we can level over well-bonded existing surfaces instead of tearing them out.

We follow the manufacturer's guidelines on every job. We can pour continuous areas up to 2,000 sq ft, and we handle larger projects in phases.

Leveling Products We Use

  • We choose the product to match your subfloor. We don't use one mix for everything.

  • Cement-based levelers. High-strength compounds for concrete, and for tile over stable surfaces.

  • Fiber-reinforced levelers. They contain fiberglass for added strength over wood or cracked subfloors.

  • Gypsum-based levelers. Lightweight options for plywood.

We work with professional-grade systems from Schönox, Uzin and USG, with primers matched to your subfloor.

Radiant Floor Heat

  • We can install electric radiant floor heating as part of the leveling work. The heating wire is embedded in the leveler, so it's protected, evenly covered and ready for tile, Marmoleum or other finish flooring.

Residential and Commercial

  • We level single rooms, whole homes, condos, offices and commercial spaces. We're glad to work as the leveling subcontractor or as part of your flooring installation project.
